NW XILIN Chinese School relies on parents' support and involvement to reach the goal of serving our community. It is parents' responsibility and obligation to follow our school guidelines and policies, safeguard school teaching order, ensure students' safety and to keep the rental facility clean. Therefore, a positive and stimulating learning environment can be provided to our students. NW XILIN Chinese School is currently renting Conant High School facility for all the classes, and will use Conant High School policies as guidance for issues regarding in-school safety, traffic control, parking and usage of school properties and equipments. The followings are supplementary for the parents of NW XILIN Chinese School.
Parents are encouraged to keep close communication and coordination with school and the teachers. Advise students to follow "Student Guidelines" for school activities. Check their homework completion, and sign papers that require parent's signature. In case of a student's absence, parents shall notify the teacher, on-duty parents or school in advance of the classes.
It is parents' obligation and responsibility to advocate and be involved in school activities, including, but not limited to school duty and safety, assisting in teaching and program evaluation. Parents are encouraged to make suggestions to improve our school.
It is mandatory for each family to fulfill no less than 4hr school service per class per child per semester. Services can be either chosen during registration, or assigned by school. On-duty parents shall complete the duty (including sign in/ sign out procedure) according the school's guidance and arrangement. Absence in school duty is subject to a charge rate of $10/hr. Repeated no-shows in assigned duties can result in the denial of student for continuing registration or event termination of current enrollment.
It is parents' responsibility to ensure students arrival in and departure from school on time. Students are 12 and under shall be escorted to and from their classrooms.
Neither food nor drinks (except drinking water) are allowed in classrooms. Parents shall teach their children to take good care of rental facility. Students who violate this rule will receive warnings from school. Students who damage or vandalize school properties are responsible for the costs of replacement or repairing.
Students are assigned to their classes by school and can only change their classroom assignments with school's permission.
Always to be aware of safety when driving inside school or outside its surrounding neighborhood. Follow school traffic guidance and parking rules.
To minimize the distraction of teaching parents should not enter or leave classrooms without permission while lessons are in session. During the classes, one parent per family from preschool and kindergarten students may stay in classrooms to monitor and/or assist student learning. Parents of higher-grade students should stay a distance from classrooms and keep a quiet teaching environment. Those parents may visit classrooms only with school's permission.
Without school's permission, any non-school related fliers, advertisements, meetings or activities are not allowed in school.
Without school's permission, parents are not allowed to use school resources.
It is parents' responsibility to provide school with correct and current contact information in student's files to ensure effective communications at any time.
Repetitive violations of school guidelines and policies can lead to a registration denial or termination of the enrollment.
